How to Get Rid of that Clingy Girl, Fast

Being in love and in a relationship is great when you are with the right person.  Having someone to spend a ton of time with, cuddle with, and share your deepest secrets with is pretty magical.  However, a lot of college guys are staying single.  Why?  To avoid the clingy girl.

We know she is out there.  The girl who is texting you multiple times an hour, calling you every 30 minutes to see where you are, interrupting guys’ night, shopping for you, showing up randomly at your place, and putting decorative pillows on your bed.  All these things can get really tough to deal with for any guy, and some guys find themselves in a situation they cannot get out of. 

So how do you get rid of that clingy girl exactly?  Well I did a little asking around and this is what I found:

•  ”Call her your ex’s name.”  Anthony Scimeca, finance major, ASU
• “Let her down easy at a public place.  She’s a sweetheart, but has crazy clingy eyes.”  Edgar Pompa, X-Ray Technician student at MCC
•  ”The best way to get rid of a clingy girl is to simply cut off all communication.  If there is no one to cling to, there is no clinging.”  Sage Siverhus, psychology major, ASU
• “Just stop calling her.”  Chris Hartmann, finance major, ASU
•  ”If she’s too clingy, I try avoiding her,  not calling or answering calls for a while [to] see if she gets the hint.  If not, then I might start acting really rude to get her to stop calling me.”  Chez Armenta, kinesiology major, ASU

While some of these answers seem harsh, but they may be necessary so that clingy girl won’t  be your problem anymore, guys.  Feel free to breathe again.

And for those girls who may be wondering what a guy is looking for in a girl, this is for you.  Ladies, here is a list of how to avoid being that clingy girl.

• Give a guy his space.  He enjoys the time he spends with you, but he deserves some time with the boys too.
• Trust your man.  If you call him at 1:05 p.m. and he is in class, most likely he will be in class at 1:15 p.m. too.
• Keep your stuff separate from his.  Guys don’t really know the purpose of decorative pillows, so, leave them at your place.
• Be the cherry on top of his day.  You want him to remember your smile and how great you smell when you leave, not have him counting down the time until he has to talk to you again.
